Welcome
I’m Cam. I live in the UK with my wife and two sons. My working background is in digital roles, primarily for good causes. This includes copywriting, video capture and editing, content creation, managing engagement, and leading on SEO strategy. In less than 500 words, below is what this site is all about.
Artwork and Animation
I set up this blog in 2015 as a platform for my digital art. The idea was that I would create artworks based around Chinese characters. These had backgrounds related to the meanings of each word in Chinese, to aid with learning the Chinese language (see here for some examples).
And you know what? It didn’t work. But I had a lot of fun and created some pleasing designs. Over time, I became competent with different software. So I branched into other digital art forms. This included; mandalas, digital collages, geometric abstractions and patterned symbols.
Most recently, I’ve been working on animations made using an AI platform kaiber.ai. You can see examples of this on my TikTok channel or on this site here.
Written Articles
Over the last five years or so I have been writing regularly on creativity, Zen ideas, parenting, and life in the UK.
One of the curious things about writing in public is feedback. Whether directly through contact, or indirectly through engagement, readers tell me what they like. I don’t spend much time agonizing over analytics for this site. Yet, I have got to know what works. And what doesn’t. I curate accordingly.
Here are a selection of readers favourite blog posts:
Of a philosophical nature:
Effortless Action (Teachings of the Tao Te Ching)
On the Human Spirit: Inspired by Josephine Baker
On parenting:

Every Day is A Good Day: How a little bit of Zen can help lift our mood

If you like something you see or read on CamZhu, that’s great! Please feel free to share it and let me know. It’s always nice to get feedback.

The word is a combination of the nickname Cam with a Chinese word. The word Zhu in Chinese means little hut, or place. So, CamZhu roughly translates as Cam’s Place. Now, CamZhu has become the author’s main screen name. You can see it on the many sites where he has an account.
It’s hard to write in public and stay anonymous. CamZhu is a moniker or handle for Cameron Robertson. Loyal friend and loving father. Also a writer, blogger and digital artist.
Cam is available for freelance copywriting, video editing and design projects. You can connect with him on LinkedIn or through the contact page on this site.
