Undertaking tutorials for the software I’m using (Painter 2016) is a necessary but time consuming task. I recently watched one which was basically learning how to use each different brush, and I learnt that modifying each brush to get exactly the right effect you want is complicated. So I have used some particle brushes as they need less tweaking to get more pretty effects from them.
The characters for learning here represent two synapses in the brain firing as a new connection is made. I used a particle brush for the synapse effect and another one to paint the ‘electricity’ strokes between the two characters/figurative synapses. The blue background is just because that colour works better than say a brain like colour would.
