Basic Colour Flower Mandala

Whilst looking through some old tutorial materials of Aaron Rutten I came across a video which involved colouring a line drawing of a Mandala. A Mandala is a circular figure representing the universe in Hindu and Buddhist symbolism. Inspired by the possibilities and liking the underlying meaning I’ve created some line art and coloured it in using Painter.

This one is fairly basic as it is my first. I used the planar mirrors feature on Painter to make the line patterns and then coloured it in. I put the Chinese symbol for Peace of Mind or Zen in the middle. This symbol is simply cut and pasted from a previous piece of my artwork. I originally got it into painter through typing a font and putting a circle round it.

I will hopefully create a few Mandalas. I will vary the colour and pattern style to make them each individual and interesting.
