Basic Colour Flower Mandala

  • Mandalas

Whilst looking through some old tutorial materials of Aaron Rutten I came across a video which involved colouring a line drawing of a Mandala. A Mandala is a circular figure representing the universe in Hindu and Buddhist symbolism. Inspired by the possibilities and liking the underlying meaning I’ve created some line art and… Read More »Basic Colour Flower Mandala

Following another tutorial I created this wooden cup. It was more straight forward than the cup with a handle – just a matter of extending a cylinder, wrapping an image around it and adjusting slightly. I used a strong lamp effect for the lighting.

This is my first attempt at creating something in a 3d modelling program – a simple cup. I am very excited about the possibilities of 3d modelling, anything seems possible! Following a tutorial, I created a 3d cylinder, and then handle, shaped them, attached the two, used some ‘material’ effects… Read More »Simple Cup

China Smorgasboard

China Smorgasboard

This is a digital collage of a few of the photos I took during my last trip to China. I have called it a smorgasbord but its just a collection. I played a lot of Mahjong and visited a lot of temple type park places which is why they feature.

Ctiyscape

Winter Cityscape

This is a Chinese winter cityscape and is my second digital collage. This is made up of images I took visiting a city in North-eastern China. Its relatively near Shenyang but I forget the name. The characters on the snow-covered river translate into a warning about swimming in the river… Read More »Winter Cityscape

Tomb of the warrior

Tomb of the Warrior

Using photo manipulation during my recent project started cogs whirring in my head about the possibilities and led me to start thinking more about the possibilities of digital collage. I downloaded Aaron Rutten‘s course on digital collage and took the first class. In the end, I didn’t create anything like what… Read More »Tomb of the Warrior
